RootShield® Seed Treatment naturally protects seeds and plants from soil-borne diseases such as RootShield Seed Treatment Bag Sizes Buy HerePhytophthora as well as Pythium, Rhizoctonia, and Fusarium as well as other plant diseases. RootShield Seed Treatment is a preventative biological fungicide for control of plant diseases. The active ingredient is a microbe, Trichoderma harzianum Rifai Strain T-22, which when applied to seeds, grows onto plant roots as they develop and provides protection against plant root pathogens such as Pythium, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, Cylindrocladium and Thielaviopsis. RootShield Seed Treatment can be used alone or in conjunction with certain chemical fungicides; consult the appropriate tank mix compatibility charts listed below.

General Treatment

RootShield Seed Treatment can be applied as a slurry, a coating, in a pellet, or during seed priming.
General Treatment: Apply 1-10 ounces of RootShield Seed Treatment per hundred weight of seed (application rates vary based on seed size and density).  For more information on rates for specific crops, see details here.
For Potatoes, Other Root and Tuber Vegetables and Bulb Vegetables: For planting or storage, treat at 0.03 – 0.20 pounds RootShield Seed Treatment to 100 lbs. (1 cwt) of bulbs, seed tubers or cut potato seed pieces. Alternatively, dip bulbs, seed tubers or cut potato seed pieces in a suspension consisting of 1.0 – 3.0 pounds of RootShield Seed Treatment in 20 gallons of water.
*DO NOT APPLY RootShield Seed Treatment to sugarcane, pechay, rice, mushrooms, kiwi, tobacco, barley, oats, lemon, apple and chickpea. Not for use on aquatic crops.
